Sharon Cordes
Sharon Cordes
Former prime minister Jean Chretien and Sharon Cordes

Sharon is the Founding Director of  the CORDES ART RETREAT

It all began at the age of seven through encouragement from her Grandmother

and after her studies at OCA she focused on teaching as well as exhibiting.

Honouring her efforts in developing the first Arts Forum in Durham,

Sharon was personally awarded the Volunteer of the Year Award by

former Prime Minister Jean Chrétien at the AGM in 1996.

She taught Art to every grade level in the Durham Schools for over fifteen years

and brought a wealth of experience to students attending her first Art Retreat in

Pickering, Ontario.  Her years of University Portfolio Preparation for students pursuing a career in the Arts never failed student acceptance.

In 2011 Sharon was asked to create the Annual Calendar for Shell Canada Ltd.,

painting 13 scenes from the 'Albian Sands Muskeg River Mine' in Ft. McMurray, Alberta.

She enjoyed 8 years of Annual Fall exhibits while living in

Northern Alberta and now participates each year in MacLaren Gallery's Benefactor Program in Barrie and the International Women's Day Show at the Orillia Museum of Art and History.

Her love of nature led her to this Country Paradise

where she runs all-inclusive Art & Literary Retreats

as well as Weekly Classes for children and adults.

She loves to write poetry and is currently working on her first novel.
